Union Sanitary District is a public agency whose goal is to protect human health and the environment by responsibly collecting, treating, and disposing of wastewater for the cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City, California. The wastewater treatment plant has an average daily flow of 30 million gallons.  Through a labor-management partnership, employees have made a commitment to being recognized as a competitive leader in the wastewater industry. To accomplish this USD has adopted a team-based organizational structure, empowering the workforce and maximizing employee involvement in decision-making.
